Issue No. 80

September 1954

Fang the Merciless: Killer Shark and the Cobra join forces with Fang the Merciless to build a cannon capable of firing a hydrogen bomb. The Communist Chinese lure the Blackhawks into a trap by posing as prisoners of the Korean war. The Blackhawks become galley slaves on Fang's ship after Blackhawk survives various ordeals in the Temple of Torture. They use acid from the batteries in their belt radios to dissolve their chains and escape, apparently blowing up their enemies with their own hydrogen cannon.

The Iron Curtain Destroyer: Members of the Polish underground enlist the help of the Blackhawks in driving a vehicle that resembles a tank/railroad car through land mines, barb wire and quicksand, to rescue their friends behind the iron curtain.

The Death Digger: (cover story; nice cover) Dr. Death commands the Death Digger, a machine with a huge drill capable of burrowing underground and wrecking havoc wherever it surfaces. The machines chases Blackhawk into a trap---a vat of acid that dissolves its metal.
