November 1964

The Outcasts of Blackhawk Island: A villain called the Hammer releases a chemical into the waters around Blackhawk Island that rapidly ages Andre, Stanislaus and Hendrickson. The three old men are sent away by Blackhawk for their own protection, but of course they return and manage to save their comrades who have been captured by the Hammer.

Combat Diary - Andre Must Die: Andre and Hendrickson parachute into Nazi occupied France to make contact with the resistance to inform them of a coming assault. Andre is captured and the Blackhawks must bomb his prison to insure that he doesn't reveal the assault plans. With heavy hearts, the five Black Knights dog fight their way to the prison and blow it to smithereens. They return thinking they have killed Andre, to learn that Hendy had effected a rescue just before their attack. In this story, the Blackhawks flie a single, radial engined aircraft with the red and white livery seen in earlier stories, but the US star instead of the Blackhawk insignia. The airplane doesn't look much like any real aircraft but has an inverted gull wing and is probably supposed to be a Vought F4U Corsair.
