Military Comics Issue No. 39

May 1945

Kwan Yin, Goddess of Mercy - The Allies drive Japan from Hotang as Blackhawk organizes Chinese partisans to outflank the enemy to the north. As the Japanese army retreats, they steal away the jade statue of the goddess, Kwan Yin, and threaten to destroy it if anyone interferes with their withdrawal. Blackhawk and Chop-Chop surrender to the Japanese to try to barter back the statue but to no avail.
