They Bar the Path to Oppression! - The Blackhawks fly to the capital city of an un-named central European country where rumors say a violent uprising is about to happen. Sure enough, a sinister, bearded man called Chief Boorn is plotting to over throw the democratic government. Boorn has studied the Blackhawks and thinks he knows each of their weaknesses - "Hendrickson is a fierce fighter but likes food, Olaf is a hot-blooded giant, Chuck and Stanislaus are tempered by soft feelings." And he has a beautiful blonde woman agent, Doria, who leads Andre into a trap. Chop Chop happens to see the trap being sprung and gets caught, too. And Blackhawk sees Chop Chop being drug into the building and charges in and is also caught. But the rest of the team comes to the rescue and in the ensuing fist fight, Boorn escapes to the roof. He is chased by Blackhawk and falls to his death. In the closing panels we learn that Andre was never fooled by Doria, he allowed himself to be caught to lead the others to the gang. (Ed: Not a particuarly strong story but some very nice art.)

The Gila - A madman calling himself "The Gila, the new ruler of the universe," has dropped deep boring bombs all over the world which he can detonate by remote control. If the world does not surrender to him he will destroy it. The Blackhawks realize the only way to stop him is to sieze the remote firing mechanism. They use their radio locator to find the Gila's secret island base. The Gila wears a grotesque reptile costume and has his hideout flooded to resemble a swamp (though the actual gila is a desert lizard). Like all mad villains, he carefully explains his plans to the Blackhawks so they can figure out how to defeat him. In this, they are assisted by the beautiful female scientist, Miss Case, who had been tricked into helping The Gila build his control system. With a little fisticuffs and a toss of Chop Chop over an electric-beam trigger, they easily finish off the "Ruler of the Universe."

Chop Chop - Chop goes to town to see his girl, Lily Foo, but finds she has replace him with zoot-suited Wong Gee. In his dispair, he tries to buy poison but is sidetracked by the beautiful, slinky Sum Yam, who speaks with a "suth'n accent because come from south China, you'all," (thus this story is offensive to both Chinese and Southerners). Sum Yam leads Chop to a Chinese mad scientist, Wo Fang, who wants to use him as the guinea pig to test a new poison. Chop has a change of heart and decides to live. Wong Gee shows up and is quickly subdued. Chop captures the bad guys, is awarded a medal by the mayor of China Town and gets Lily Foo back. The usual silly story and a waste of eight pages of Blackhawk comic.
