The U.S.S. Enterprise's Torpedo

John says this picture presents the torpedo as if it were on display in a museum. I think he has done a particularly nice job depicting the graphite steering vanes and deflection cone in the front of the guidance section. The red spheres at the rear of the torpedo are monitor lights for the quidance wires. As long as the lights are lit, the gunner guiding the torpedo knows he has a good connection. They would also provide a visual reference for the exact location of the torpedo, while the rocket exhaust would give a broader visual indictor.
