     Andre Blanc-Dumont was a former French National and soldier of fortune who had been instrumental in the organization of the French Resistance during the Nazi occupation of that country. Prior to joining the Blackhawk squadron, Blanc-Dumont flew raids out of Tunisia on Nazi-held positions in southern Europe.
     Blanc-Dumont, an excellent if slightly reckless pilot was second in command of The Blackhawks and often served as co-pilot to Janos Prohaska. He is believed to have been Prohaska's closest confidant.
