This amusing parody of Blackhawk was done by Dave for a 'Howard the Duck' convention held in New Jersey in 1977. This shows clearly that Dave's interest in and affection for the Blackhawks goes back a lot further than his actual work on the series in the early '80s. Dave has told me that, just like a lot of the readers of this website, he was hooked on the Blackhawks as a kid reading the books in the late '50s.
