Issue No. 56

September 1952

The War Wheel: A giant machine attacks a city. The Blackhawks bomb and strafe it to no effect. Blackhawk lands and the War Wheel gives chase but it ends up in quicksand and sinks from sight. The War Wheel made many other appearances in DC Blackhawk comics and finally ended up in the Blackhawk museum on Blackhawk island.

An advertisement appears in this issue for the Blackhawk movie serial.

Chop-Chop starts a tour business to China but uses a rocket for the trip. He ends up destroying the china shop next door.

Untitled (the sky dragon?): A prophet appears and predicts the fall of democracy unless the Communists are elected. A giant dragon appears in the sky, burning the city. Blackhawk spoils the Commie uprising, then chases the dragon. The dragon swallows Blackhawk and Chop-Chop, plane and all. The dragon is really mechanical. Blackhawk and Chop-Chop wreck the control panel and escape. The dragon drifts into a thunder storm and is destroyed.

The School For Sabotage: Sabotage runs rampant until Blackhawk infiltrates the gang. Using his belt radio, Blackhawk summons the rest of the Blackhawks. The saboteurs are brought to justice.
