Issue No. 175

August 1962

Prisoners of the Lost Land: On a mission to rescue mountain climbers, the Blackhawks are forced onto a work gang assembling a powerful multi-purpose machine. The machine had been abandoned on Earth in the distant past by aliens and discovered in the present by criminals.

The Do-it-yourself Villains: Mr. Whoo, a weapons designer, is selling ready made crime kits. The kit provides a costume and gear with a theme, like the "King Kangaroo Costume Kit" that included boots with super powerful springs and suggestions on what kind of crimes could be committed with the costume. Blackhawk poses as Copterman and steals from the kit equipped crooks, who think Mr. Whoo has double-crossed them. This is one of the more original ideas to show up in Blackhawk and it was handled very cleverly.

The Creature with Blackhawk's Brain: Blackhawk switches minds with a grotesque, super powered creature to capture alien criminals.
