Issue No. 219

... April 1966

El Blackhawk Peligroso (The Dangerous Blackhawk): Andre's South American cousin, Cisco, shows up wanting to become a Blackhawk. He fouls up one situation after another but saves the day in the end. This story must have been pretty offensive even when it was published thirty years ago. It trots out one Hispanic sterotype after another, making cheap jokes that aren't even funny. It makes the treatment of Chop-Chop almost look good.

Detached Service Diary - The Unknown Enemy Blackhawk: Sword, a secret criminal organization, kidnaps a Blackhawk and turns him into a weapon against the other Blackhawks, but the story does a fairly clever job of concealing the identity of the brainwashed Blackhawk until the end.
