Death's Deadly Pawn: In Santa Culpa, the Blackhawks are held in chains by Boris, a former Blackhawk and now Anti-man. Flashbacks show us how Boris was a close friend of Chuck, but even then Stan suspected that Boris had a dark side. Boris was seemingly killed during a raid on a mad scientist's laboratory and the Blackhawks left, grieving. Boris in fact survived and acquired antimatter powers and a desire for revenge against the men he thinks deserted him. The Blackhawks escape from Anti-man's chains and battle him, till, facing defeat, he destroys himself in a suicidal antimattter explosion.
