Issue No. 264

November 1983

A Long Ago Land: Still mourning the death of Domino, Blackhawk assigns himself the solo mission of tracking the next most dangerous Nazi assassin, Der Morder. The track leads him to a mysterious city in a high mountain valley (a la Shangri La) where weapons disintegrate and the people are ageless. Of course, Morder is there too, and he and Blackhawk clash. Blackhawk wins but at the cost of aging the wise old leader of the town. Meanwhile, Chop-Chop has begun to question his place on the team, and leaves for China after he hears of a Japanese super weapon. The rest of team, minus Chop-Chop, are attacked by bats trained by Professor Merson to seek them out. (Mark Evanier takes over editing as well as writing, coloring by Janice Cohen, cover by Gil Kane)

Detached Service Diary - The Business of War!: In China, Chop-Chop unwillingly saves a beautiful woman arms dealer from a giant Japanese humanoid war machine (sort of an early anime style mech). (illustrated by Will Meugniot and Dennis Jensen)
