The Uncanny X-Men, 158

June 1982

Dave Cockrum sent me the following:

I just remembered--Blackhawk SORT OF made an appearance in the X-Men. Issue #158 involves a storyline where Wolverine, Storm and Carol Danvers go into the Pentagon to erase files on the X-Men. In one panel there's a long shot of them walking down a looong corridor. Wolverine is looking back at someone walking past in a cross corridor. I drew in Blackhawk. Chris Claremont covered him with a word balloon, but you can still see his legs and boots.

What Dave did not say is that he must have still been thinking of Blackhawk when, a few pages later, he designed a costume for the villainess, Rogue, that looks very much like the uniforms worn by the Black Knights.
