Helmet

The helmet's fin was made from .06 thick styrene sheet. I made a cardboard pattern to get the fit to the curve of the helmet right, and then cut two pieces from the sheet plastic. These were cemented together around the outside edges, but the edge that fits to the helmet was separated by spacers that make the fin thicker at the bottom than at the top. The spacers also served as anchors for small sheet metal screws that secure the fin to the helmet (along with a lot of superglue).
